About WillyB Barbell Club
Our USAW certified barbell club is founded on two guiding principles: that everyone is capable of performing the Snatch, Clean and Jerk and that with hard work, discipline, and dedication these seemingly impossible lifts can be executed with the fluidity and grace of a world-class athlete. We believe that training the Olympic lifts not only improves your speed, balance, accuracy and coordination but it also enhances your focus and ability to overcome fears. By using the barbell to train the body and the mind, we seek to improve our athletes’ performance on and off the platform.
The Barbell classes are designed to supplement your current CrossFit training. Each class focuses on an Olympic Weightlifting skill or technique designed to improve your performance in CrossFit. The program runs on multi week cycles to advance your technique, build your strength, increase your speed and deepen your understanding of the Snatch, Clean and Jerk. The cycle revolves around 3 days of coached lifting in small groups and independent study weekly, in two 4 week blocks, culminating in a taper and test via Mock Meet. Athletes of all skill levels are welcome.
